A SILLY AND CRUEL MEDIA REPORT ON HIV/AIDS

This weekend there was a most unkind and silly report by journalist one Timothy Pirunduo writing to the Sunday Chronicle on people with HIV/AIDS.

He says that there should be compulsory testing and people with the virus to be quarantined and kept away from the community like rotten bananas kept away from the bunch. This should be accepted by Christian people who have to be realistic.

He says that AIDS Holistics in promoting Positive Living has much to prove. He claims that we should be providing statistics. We leave that to the gay and lesbian activists who are hiding that the family focus is reducing the level of HIV infection.

He says that Positive Living can only work for those who are mentally strong. Conducive environment plays a big role in such an approach. True. Family is the key.

Most infection in this country is by gay men involved in anal sex and anal licking. They become infected with HIV and gut parasites that maintain a dual attack on the gut lining.

He says that “allowing victims to be moving and mingling with everyone just exposes the high possibility of it being spread undetected. They must be contained and quarantined. This is an emergency situation”.

“Take the analogy of allowing a rotten banana to be amongst the other good ones. The whole lot will rot. So remove the rotten ones and all will be ripe and healthy”.

“The move here is to instil punishment, humiliation, that will instil fear of the repercussions awaiting anyone who fall (sic) victim.”

“What must happen now is an Act of Parliament to be enacted for compulsory HIV/AIDS testing for all. People be then categorized and quarantined in a prison-like penitentiary. It sounds and looks inhumane but that is the best possible solution we are left with”.

This is the second foolish report from Sunday Chronicle on HIV/AIDS. One Tereni Kens wrote 3 reports about 4 years ago before he was undoubtedly told by the newspaper management to cease.

He praised the herbalists for their herb cures, particularly Lansy Lapu, a conman living in Murray Barracks who claimed to have found a cure for AIDS.
